ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ This is beyond the most common question. I won't bore you with detail, so here are pretty simple directions: - Go to "Special Operations" in Galaxies Ablaze, or "Spy Operations" in Mage Realms. - Do the Gravity/Wizard Eye Scan as you normally would. - Right-click the page, and select "Select All." - Right-click again, and select "Copy." - Now open the EA Gravity Scan Manager. - Click on the "Scan Manager" tab, if not already selected. - Now click the "Load Scan" link. - Paste the Scan result into the box provided. - Click "Load." If you get an error requiring you to enter your Planet/Realm info, then go to "CUSTOMIZE," and fill out the appropriate info. Everytime you use the Scan Manager, you must upload a Scan in this fashion. /* 2 / What can this thing do? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ This tool has the ability to take a Scan from GA/MR, sort through it, and return results in an easy-to-read format. It also comes with advanced sorting tools to help you maximize the potential of each Scan. You can also compare two scans, to see who has gained, or lost Land & NW/Glory. If you have a Comparison Scan uploaded, you can then use the Bank Search tool, to help you locate possible Banks. On top of all of this, the Scan Manager takes it to a new level. There are additional Tools to use with GA/MR. There's the Score Locator, a must-have for Score Keepers. The Defense % Calc that calculates the amount of Defense any given Planet/Realm has at home in an easy-to-use copy/paste format. There's also a GAX Galaxy to Scan convertor, a Training Calc, and a Barracks Calc. Everything you could possibly want for GA/MR is in this Tool. /* 3 / Why won't it upload my Scan? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Currently, upload support is limited to visual browsers who display data in a Table with tab-separated table cells, or space-separated table cells. Browsers that copy Table data with a new line for each table cell are not supported. This includes Apple Safari, the default browser for Macintosh computers. Browsers known to be supported include: * IE 6.0+ * NS 7.0+ * Mozilla 1.0+ * Firefox 1.0+ If your default browser is not supported, or the Scan doesn't upload for it, then I suggest you use one of the above listed Browsers. /* 4 / Why do I need to have my Planet details to run a Scan? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ This tool does an automatic calculation of the time it should take for your Military to return from an attack. The Tool requires your Planet Type/Race, your Personality, and your Wormhole/Planar co-ords. Filling this information out is only required once, and once you have it set, it's stored in a cookie on your computer. Filling out your Name, and Location is used for other Tools, and is not required. However, if the Tool has your Name, it makes certain functions run much easier and faster for you. /* 5 / How do I compare two scans? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ First you must upload the newest Scan as normal. If you accidentally upload a previous Scan as the New scan, then the results will appear backwards. A difference of +300 land would appear to be a loss of 300. Once you have the newest Scan uploaded, click the "Load Comparison Scan" link beside the "Load Scan" one. This will open a similar box to the normal one. Paste the old scan into the box and click "Load." The Scan should now have loaded any current Planet/Realms' Land & Networth/Glory difference. When you search, you will be given new details to search for, and a new Search Option called "Bank Search." /* 6 / Is there a way to make the Scan prevent showing certain ŻŻŻŻŻ\ Systems for GA? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Yes. It's called "Excluded Systems." It will stop certain Systems from appearing in the results. To set the list of Systems that will be excluded, go to "CUSTOMIZE." Under "Scan Details," you will find the "Excluded Systems" option. The easiest way to set the list, is to go to "Alliance Politics" in GA, then select your Alliance from the list and copy the page that lists all of the Members of it. Once you do that, click the "Find My Alliance Mates For Me!" link, and paste the results into the box. Now click "Find." Like magic, your Alliance mates should appear in the box. Click "Update Details" and you're done. If, however, you want to insert them manually, then you must enter each one with a space inbetween them, in a G:S format. So, if you wanted to exclude 1:1, 4:8, and 3:2, you'd type "1:1 4:8 3:2" into the box, and click "Update Details." Now when you search, no Planets with the location matching any System in the list you set will appear. You will, however, be informed if there were any Excluded Planets beside the Results information. You can then click "Include" to force the Excluded Planets to be included in the Search. They will still be clearly marked by being in bold and italic. Also note that since MR doesn't have any Alliances, I did not feel the need to program this support for it. /* 7 / What is Highlighting, and how does it work? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Highlighting is a feature that allows you to easily pick-out Planets/Realms from the results table, and send their data to a textbox in the upper-right corner of the Scan Manager. It will also Highlight the selected Planet/Realm by changing the background color of the table row. The information displayed in the textbox when you highlight a Planet/Realm can be changed as of 2.0. You can customize the display, or even which Data is used when Highlighting. To set this information, go to "CUSTOMIZE," and under "Scan Details" you will see "Highlighting." In the "Highlighting Format" textbox, you can type how the information will be shown. Certain "tags" will be replaced by the actual information of that Planet/Realm when Highlighted. Those tags include: [pos] = The position of the Planet/Realm in the Scan Manager. [name] = The name of the Planet/Realm. [loc] = The Location. [type] = The Planet Type/Race. [land] = The Land. [ldiff] = The difference in Land for the Comparison Scan. [nw] = The NW/Glory. [ndiff] = The difference in NW/Glory for the Comparison Scan. [ratio] = The NW(/Glory)/Land ratio. [rt] = The military return time. Everything else will be left the same. So, a formatting of "[[name]-[land]-[nw]]" might result in "[GA Planet-2,451-692,523]" in the Highlighting box. A formatting of "----------" would simply show "----------" for each Highlighted Planet/Realm, because no special tags exist in the formatting, so nothing but the line would show. Once you're done setting the format, click the "Update Details" button, and you're all done. /* 8 / Can I disable Highlighting? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Of course! On the same page you'd set the format (CUSTOMIZE), there is a checkbox for "Disable Highlighting." Simply check it and click "Update Details." The Highlighting box will disappear, and when you perform a search, the Highlighting won't show up. /* 9 / When I added a Link to "My Links," it was blank, or lead to ŻŻŻŻŻ\ a bad URL. Why? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ "My Links" are entirely user-based, and the actual links are not checked to see if they are valid or not. Because of this flexability, you can set Links with a title of " " and when it appears in the "My Links" list, it will appear blank, or non-clickable. The same goes for the actual URL. Although you cannot set the URL to nothing, or "http://," you can set it to a blank space, or a foreign character. This could cause certain links to not function, or even make your browser crash. To make sure this doesn't happen, give your links a proper Title, and make sure they lead to a legitimate webpage. /*10 / What is a Configuration Script, and how do I make it work? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ A Configuration Script will let you specify details that are loaded regardless if you have a Cookie already set or not. Basicly it overwrites any previous settings with the one in the file. Only v2.7+ supports this feature. To set a Configuration Script: Create a file in the same directory as the Scan Manager called "config.js". The file MUST be named "config.js" because that's the only file name that will work. After that is done, go to "CUSTOMIZE" in the Scan Manager and click "Create a Configuration Script." When the pop-up appears, copy the text in the textbox and paste it into the config.js file. Now whenever you load the Scan Manager, the details set in the Configuration Script will be the ultimate settings for the Scan Manager. It won't matter if there is a Cookie, or no Cookie, or what the Cookie says. If you want to return to using a Cookie to save your details, simply DELETE the config.js file. If, however, you want to CHANGE the details that are loaded, then do so in the Scan Manager, and click "Create a Configuration Script" again. Copy the text and paste it over top of the current config.js file text. Doing this will ensure that the new details are saved, and will load the next time you open the Scan Manager. /*11 / How can I use the Scan Manager as a Score Keeping tool? ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ As of v2.9+, the Scan Manager contains quick and easy ways for Score Keepers to manage Scores of certain Systems, or their entire Alliance. Unfortunately, these additions are GA-only, as MR does not have Alliances, and does not need advanced Score Keeping. There are now "Quick Ops" that you can use to quickly set Scan Details for keeping score. "Score Keeper" is for general score keeping. "Land," "NW," and "Ratio" can be used to quickly format Highlighted data for copying easier. Highlight All and Unhighlight All have been reprogrammed to work much faster. They now take about the same amount of time as it does to change a page. You can now return Excluded Systems only when performing a Search By System search. Filling out the Galaxy and leaving the System blank will return only Excluded Planets in that Galaxy. The same goes for System, but leaving Galaxy blank. If you leave them both blank, then it will return ALL of the Excluded Planets. This way you can sort them, and compare their stats, then Highlight All and paste them into your Alliance. Using these new tools will make any Score Keeper happier. - EoF Created On : May 9th, 2004. 5:30:14 AM. Last Modified : December 17th, 2007. 8:07:05 AM.
